ABOUT GALA GILAN
Gala Gilan (born 1986) is a traditional painter, trained in Florence, Italy, in line with the old masters of Europe.
Her artistic passion began at an early age with a great attraction to art and beauty. Starting at 17, she spent two years studying at the "Visual Arts College" of Beer-Sheva, Israel, where she developed her drawing and painting skills, as well as studying photography, sculpture and print-making.
With the desire to deepen her knowledge furthermore, she traveled to Italy to study at the "Florence Academy of Art", where she completed the three year specialization program. During her studies she was granted numerous scholarships, and in the year 2011 won the award "Best Cast Painting of the Year".
Leaving Florence after four years, she continued to combine her love for art and exploration. She has lived and taught in Portugal, Romania, Sweden and India.
Represented by "Bazel Gallery" of Tel-Aviv between the years 2014-2019, her works can be found in collections around the world.
Upon returning to Israel she opened her own art studio, where she is currently working and teaching.
